Afrojack, Bobby Burns and Tony Cha Cha

In honor of it being H2O this weekend in South Africa. Afrojack, who is headlining this event while also be the headline for this post. Bobby Burns and Tony Cha Cha will also be playing at this event and I will give everyone some history about each person and some tracks to download and listen to.

1. Afrojack

In the span of less than 2 years, Afrojack has become one of electronic dance music’s major icons. He began Djing in his native country of Holland and has grown up to become a multi-award winning, platinum-selling producer. His skills are some of the most sought after in the world, and with two Grammy Awards under his belt, it’s easy to see why. In addition to this, his DJ sets have fast become both iconic and unparalleled, providing an explosive take on the current state of dance music across the board.
Starting off in his hometown of Spijkenisse, Nick van de Wall aka Afrojack, quickly made a name for himself with a slew of hard-hitting underground releases, before exploding in 2011 with the unveiling of “Take Over Control” . This also helped solidify his own imprint Wall Recordings as a pioneering club music brand – a value he holds dear as label boss and insures with every release.

2. Bobby Burns

Bobby started spinning tracks in 1996 and produced his first record in 2002, but in the summer of 2007 everybody in Holland knew his name. His track ‘From Holland’ became one Holland biggest summer anthems of the year, but now we can easily say it was just the start of something big.
The success of Bobby’s track ‘From Holland’, made Afrojack notice his talent. Bobby and Afrojack decided to get together for some time in the studio, which resulted in the releases of ‘Ghettoblaster’ on Spinnin’ Records. ‘Ghettoblaster’ became the start of a long-term collaboration between Bobby and Afrojack.
Almost a year later, Bobby Burns is a solid part of Wall Recordings as he represents the more techy and underground sound of Afrojack’s label. For his releases on Wall Recordings, Bobby teamed up with label-owner Afrojack and Sidney Samson, resulting in four huge releases supported by guys like David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Axwell, Dada Life, just to name a few. In April 2010, Bobby Burns and Afrojack released their first Wall Recordings-collaboration: ‘Real High’. Bobby and Afrojack continued their good work and a few months later they came up with a new collab called ‘Bungee’. The track rocked dance-floors all around the globe and Pete Tong picked the track as an ‘Essential New Tune’ on his BBC1 radio show. Bobby’s latest work for Wall Recordings includes ‘Countdown’, collaboration with Sidney Samson (supported by Tiesto, Diplo and Laidback Luka a.o.) and another electrifying co-production with Afrojack: ‘Bridge’.

3. Tony Cha Cha

At a young age Tony Cha Cha got infected with the musical virus that hasn't left him since.

Tony Cha Cha, born in the Hague (Netherlands) as Dimitrie Siliakus, grew up in the city of Amersfoort. He started his career packed with the dream to turn his hobby into a profession. His first steps consisted of DJing at school-parties and organically grew into landing regular gigs at local clubs in his hometown. In those local clubs is where his undeniable talent was discovered by one of the captains of the house music industries, DJ Jean. Soon, his first residency was a fact in the now defunct, but at the time booming, club IT in Amterdam, Holland.

His unique mixing style together with self-made bootlegs rapidly turned Tony into a definite favorite amongst clubbers and promoters!. This offered him his first big break and marked the first big milestone in his tender career as he was offered a residency at club IT. At the same time he started focusing on the production side of music.
